Spring is in sight

Snow drop opening up, originally uploaded by Martha Bixby.

Last year I made a determined effort to find the signs that spring was truly on its way. This year, with all the snow, it seems a particularly important task. So on a walk to the National Cathedral and its beautiful (though still snow-covered) gardens we spotted a few small signs – snowdrops, forsythia, dozens of robins. At the Cathedral the Lenten Roses were in bloom, although a little worse for the recent frost and snow.
